I made a shawl using the "Kevat" pattern, you can get it off of knitting pattern central and you can make it as big or small as you like. I used one skein of Schafer "Anne" and it turned out a really nice size and I think thats about 500+ yards.Larjmarjhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00944577259055976703noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995317468982474252.post-82747634750009343082007-09-19T13:46:00.000-04:002007-09-19T13:46:00.000-04:00Oh ok, thanks!!! That's probably because I'm short, so a sweater that long would likely just be a dress on me. *teehehe* As long as the Mrs. likes it, that's all that counts right? :)

How nice to get those extra goodies for the late shipment!! Which yarn are you thinking of using for your mom's shawl? The blue & yellow (1700yds)?? If so, have you considered the Tiger Swallowtail Shawl for your mom? That shawl came to mind when I looked up the Yarn Harlot one you mentioned.ekgheiyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02829093113564663939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995317468982474252.post-44434609671363939352007-09-19T10:08:00.000-04:002007-09-19T10:08:00.000-04:00I'm currently working on the Diamond Fantasy Shawl...I'm currently working on the Diamond Fantasy Shawl by Sivia Harding and I highly recommend the pattern for those wanting to break into lace knitting. And 850 yards would be plenty for a shawl. What's the weight of the yarn that you purchased? I'm not sure if you're in Ravelry yet but the pattern browser should help.MotherHenKnitshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05602291186270625154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995317468982474252.post-19546918498456260372007-09-19T08:53:00.000-04:002007-09-19T08:53:00.000-04:00Now I know what to do with my drawerful of Crown R...Now I know what to do with my drawerful of Crown Royal bags...... how clever!Soxophone Playerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03921353689251986354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995317468982474252.post-59461558450800528022007-09-19T06:32:00.000-04:002007-09-19T06:32:00.000-04:00that is one awesome bag for toting around a pair o...that is one awesome bag for toting around a pair of socks!Matt.......https://www.blogger.com/profile/04740955200944097483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7995317468982474252.post-52078947054935526762007-09-19T03:45:00.000-04:002007-09-19T03:45:00.000-04:00hi, i really like your blog and just wanted to unl...hi, i really like your blog and just wanted to unlurk and say hello. also, if the two handpainted skeins aren't the same, you can alternate the skeins for each row, that is sort of the trick for larger projects with handpaints.Fabiennehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08377581941894897321noreply@blogger.com
