Argyle update

The argyle socks are almost done. The socks themselves are done, but I still need to weave in the ends (the inside is a big pile of yarn vomit), duplicate stitch the crisscrossed lines in black (is there a term for that?) and block them so the stitches come out looking all purty. But, they're done enough to post on the SAMKAL4 in time to qualify for an August entry, and that's all I was worried about for now.

Up next? Why, another pair of socks of course! I'm not sure which ones though, so you can vote on your favorite here. Just note that the fair isle socks are no longer in the running, I'm a little sick of multiple strands of yarn on one piece.

I love those socks. The different pattern in the heel makes them really unique.

yeah man, just tie some knots and snip it off, nobody's going to see them, they'll be on the inside!

Well done. I like them! Very cool. I'm impressed.

Campfire socks! Nothing fits better than socks ribbed on the top of the foot, plus the CM girls are local favorites.....

oh man those are NICE socks - I'm a little envious of them - that's a LOT of time and talent right there on your toes... congrats!

Jason, can you share where you got the pattern? An acquaintance wants to make argyle socks for her husband but mislaid her pattern.

This isn't the pattern I used, but it looks like a really good tutorial.

Basically what I did was find a different tutorial that put the bug in my head that you could knit the leg and foot flat and seam the sock up when you're done. From there, I just swatched & charted the diamond pattern to see how large I wanted it and cast on. HTH
